This website is devoted to making sure LGBT individuals know that no matter what happens, it gets better. Having many gay, lesbian, and bisexual friends it is a big deal to me that all LGBT individuals know that it gets better. I don’t feel any of my friends have ever been afraid to come out to me, because they know that I’m such an accepting person. That’s how I was raised. I have a family who stresses love and acceptance no matter what, and I find that even though I am a straight woman, if I had discovered that I was gay, they would have loved me every bit as much.

Some people aren’t that lucky. Many teens and young adults are kicked out, disowned, even threatened by their families when they come out. It is something that should not be treated as a disease, phase, or something you can beat out of them. Many LGBT individuals have enough trouble admitting to themselves about who they are, nevermind finally working up the courage to tell their families and friends. They are exactly the same person they were before they told you, nothing about them has changed. They should be met with support, if not complete acceptance at first, and reminded that IT GETS BETTER.

To anyone of you who knows me, or doesn’t know me, always keep in mind my ask box is always open, and I can always lend a kind word or just listen.
